A deaf boy who is low education. he came to me how proud he made good grade on the test, he showed me his test paper. I was shocked like white ghost. I cant believe that teacher (hearing ) did that to him. It happened in 1985 or 1986.That is true dishonest academic. I am telling you the truth no joke or make up this time.

Yes, I can image that. Deaf school keep us deaf stay DUMB! Sad, Right!
That's sad. So many deaf kids were cheated out of decent education due to the laziness of the teachers. Obviously the principal didn't care, either.
I certainly hope the attitude nowadays are much better there
Teachers are accountable for students' education. I agree that many kids were cheated out of decent education, but this happens in public schools, too. It is up to parents and caring individuals to hold teachers accountable. The principal was correct in that you should discuss with the teacher first. That is protocol. For future reference, I would recommend that if you encounter this again, approach the teacher first, then if the meeting is unsatisfactory, approach the principal, then on to the superintendent, etc... until this type of situation. It is our responsibility to ensure that professionals, especially those who work with children, actually do their jobs conscientiously.

My residental deaf school let me grade with a diploma at fourth grade level. They sucked!

Yes i see you point but i would also correct you that not only Deaf school do that. Hearing school as well.
For example:
I know guy name Travis in my high school back then, He in my math class and he was failing. He moved to different school (hearing) and all the sudden he making all the A's.
I am ASL teacher and i teach at big hearing school. believe me hearing teachers does the same for low function hearing kids. did i say hearing kid. haha

I understand what you explain about teacher good or lousy. my suggest why not you tell sc school for the deaf about teacher awards of year. or teacher of month will count awards cash or prize. it same as usa hearing school that we learn from superbowl nfl. why not give chance of all deaf school teacher of year in first history show them do better for deaf education not sit in ass do nothing. i remember when i was take tour in virginia school for the deaf in hampton and i told princpal i said hey those teacher sit and do nothing and i notice kids raise hand and teacher is read newspaper what is hell not like hearing school and those school is not for me. princpal got gash on me what i said to them. so far i understand how students feel about problems that teacher is not help me nothing. i said really shame on teacher. so later on I look at superbowl nfl awards on tv i said wow and thought about Deaf school will be in superbowl nfl first history Deaf school teacher awards ?? how will sound to all deaf school will do focus deaf student better education not sit ass do nothing. thank god i dont go that deaf school in hampton is worse stink education. I found the Deaf school is best in washington dc mssd cause more focus on all students better education as ask any question will not bite teacher! why not all Deaf school will be same as education teacher awards of month or year go superbowl we cannot wait hear from Deaf teacher awards will be same in years to earn your credit education highest pay ? why not ? challange to teacher to teacher who is number one ? sorry i been thought all deaf school thru my parent was in navy i know about different deaf school students feel about education lousy teacher and etc. I been thought deaf school in japan oral school for the deaf and new mexico school for the deaf and virginia school for the deaf in stuation and florida school for the deaf and finally mssd in washington d.c life is not easy and lots learn different education and different sign langauge in states. and hearing school too.
I am not too surprised by this at all! It's still happening all over America/Canada, yes it's 2007 now - BTW it's not just hearing teachers, it's both hearing and Deaf/deaf/wanna-be-deafy teachers too.
I can only conclude that we are letting them get away with it simply because we are not united in what we want for our children.
